01:54 : It took us 10 episodes, but genocide and war crimes are being openly discussed. 02:55 : I'm not going to pretend that I understand the science. It seems questionable to me that the power is flickering at this rate. It seems questionable to me that folks died slowly. We're gonna roll with it. 04:15 : I LOVE in-universe slurs and insults. "Grounder pounder" is a masterstroke. 04:41 : This is probably the moment I originally switched from being a Raven fan to an Octavia stan. From here on out, it's just gonna be me ranting about how rad Octavia is. "It just means someone else would have to do it" is my framework for morality. 05:38 : Narrator : They were not, in fact, "good". 06:55 : We feel so far removed from it in the modern day, but can you imagine how impactful a whole village's smoke house going up in flames would be? I live on the shady side of town and sometime's an elderly neighbor (who is on a fixed income) will have their fridge break. That alone wipes them out for a month. If it was the entire village's food for the month, it could be gg for an entire people. 08:17 : Why the face? Just because he's not in the cool kids club? (I suspect he will die to display a danger.) 08:48 : Again, why the face? You were asking the same friggin question before you were in the club. 10:00 : It's good to believe in people but it's crucial not to put them in a position where failure isn't an option. That's how you get sneaky shady deception stuff. 12:01 : This is the kind of immersive, world-building dialogue that I can behind. 13:50 : Fake tracks are probably in my top 50 favorite gambits. 13:54 : -_- Look at that. He died to display a danger. 14:03 : ! What?! "We gotta leave him!" is not a conclusion we've reached for anyone else. At least they chose the right characters for this. It's entirely within their characters for Clarke and Finn to abandon a rando to protect the cool kids club. 16:26 : Keeping track of how far you've gone, especially over 5 miles of hiking, without training is a daunting task. Some attempt is better than no attempt for sure. If Finn really is somehow trained in tracking on the Ark, it is likely he was also taught to keep a pace count. I accept this. There are studies that show that being moved to a second location is an indicator of increased chance of muerte. Clarke isn't super wrong to think that they're not getting out of there. Expecting torture would make sense, based on Jasper and Murphy's experiences. 17:22 : The timing of this kidnap is interesting. It shows that the Grounders could have attacked at any time. They stalked and baited Clarke, specifically. 20:53 : Ya know, it's on a lesser scale, but I've seen it in real life. Every time I stopped to push a car home for someone, we'd get random people pulling over and joining the push. No communication, no questions, just strolling up and starting to push. It's a beautiful thing. 21:30 : It's hard to feel bad about this one. Firstly, we didn't see anyone actually on the bridge. Secondly, they were on the bridge on the road to kill the kids. Thirdly, this girl is a second and in the front of the army there are risks like this. It's not as though she was a rando civilian in a village. She was leading a charge to murder Clarke and all her friends. 22:30 : They kind of glossed over it, but the exodus ship crashing from signal jamming seems like a big deal to me! 25:00 : Not my fave, but they ain't hurting nobody. (Assuming we ignore Bellamy's massive age gap, as the show seems to want to do) 27:42 : I can't give Kane any credit for breaking the rules to save a member of the cool kids club. However, he does appear to be ~growing~ 32:38 : I think it would be legitimately like the hardest thing to go back to this girl's family and try to tell them she died bravely. Like, you took responsibility for this child. You promised to make her strong. Not just like "you" an organization, like a military, but on this scale "you" the individual. 34:19 : In Metal Gear Solid 4, Snake crawls through a tunnel very similar to this, that's filled with microwaves. I imagine that the metal he's cawling on would be deeply unpleasant. 35:34 : If you panic, for even a moment in a situation like this, it starts a cascading set of failures. He'd just be rolling around and cooking to death. 40:51 : Maybe if we listened to Monty, we'd be able to reach Monty.
What a place to end an episode. Clarke in the trap, Monty gone missing, the cool kids club choosing a rando over their clique. It's good stuff.
There are only two episodes left in the season and there's a good rising feeling, at this point. I wish they weren't so unsure what to do with Raven's character. I wish Abby wasn't conveniently alive, but we knew she would be.
